EVENING OF WORSHIP
Join us for an evening of worship at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, June 12, 2026 - Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus - at 7p.
The evening will include adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, directed and silent prayer, worship music, and the opportunity for confession.
We will review the five main forms of prayer as defined in the Catechism of the Catholic Church 2626–2643: blessing/adoration, petition, intercession, thanksgiving, and praise.
For each form of prayer, we will hear a related passage from the catechism and from scripture. After each scripture reading, we will have directed prayer, followed by a worship song and some time of silent prayer.
The evening will end with the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, benediction, reposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Salve Regina.
The event is scheduled to approximately an hour and 15 minutes.
In the words of St. Augustine, "QUI BENE CANTAT BIS ORAT" "He who sings well prays twice"
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You!
