FIRST COMMUNION  Year One of First Communion Preparation begins at age 6 or older. In the first year traditional prayers are memorized and the foundations of our faith are experienced through many different styles of learning.

Year Two of First Communion Preparation encourages students to grow in a deeper understanding of prayer, the Mass, Penance, and the Holy Eucharist.

First Reconciliation is received as a class on a Saturday during Lent.  Several weeks later, First Communion is received as a class on a Saturday morning. Current calendars are provided.

Parents are very involved in their children’s preparation. To assist them in doing this several meetings are held throughout the year. Families attend Mass together every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation. Classes are easily continued each week at home if absence from class is necessary.

CONFIRMATION  Two years of registered preparation as well as being age 13+ are required to be Confirmed. Year One of Confirmation Preparation begins at age 12 or older.

Parents are involved but share much of the responsibility with Sponsors who accompany their candidate through the preparation process. To assist them in doing this several meetings are held throughout the year. Families attend Mass together every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation. Classes are easily continued each week at home if absence from class is necessary.

Confirmation date is usually announced by the Bishop several months ahead of time. Our parish is typically scheduled for early spring.

ADULT FAITH FORMATION - RCIA classes for returning or new Catholics are offered on Sundays September through May For details call the office 919-231-6364 or contact Kobi Inkumsah at [email protected]
