Presentation

The shroud of Turin is an extensively studied and famous length of linen cloth that depicts a faint image of a man on its front and back. Some believe it to be the authentic burial cloth wrapped around the crucified body of Jesus of Nazareth, others think it a simple forgery created in 14th century. Whatever the case, the shroud has been venerated for centuries by Catholics and surely does call to mind our own suffering and that of Jesus. This presentation will examine the history, the science, and the Catholic church position on the Shroud of Turin.
